Playhouse Disney LIVE ~ 2009

On Sunday, March 22nd we attended the Playhouse Disney Live show at the Sovereign Center. I found out about the show in early February from our playgroup we belong to and I knew Ryan would love it! As we got closer to the big day, I didn't know who was more excited, Ryan or ME? I seriously enjoy the shows as much as he does, and I love that they are not annoying like so many cartoons you see on other channels...

I made sure to order our tickets early so we were able to get somewhat decent seats before the show sold out. I was excited because I was able to secure tickets that weren't on the floor (why do parents spend the extra money for those seats? you spend more but your kids won't be able to see the stage without them standing on your lap?!) but they seemed close enough to the stage that we would have a great view. Or so I thought...

MICKEY MOUSE!

I was disappointed with our view for several reasons. First, we could see what was going on in the wings of the stage. I am sure Ryan could care less but I hated that I could see who was coming out next and the stage crew. Second, do you see the line on the left hand side of the above photo? That's would be a rope holding something up. It was very difficult to cut that out of each shot. Plus who wants to watch a show with a rope in the way the entire time? And third, there was a screen at the back of the stage that showed a lot of things that went along with the story line. We could not see this screen AT ALL.

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too!

Handy Manny and the Tools

My cousin Sahira was able to join us and it was nice to have an extra pair of hands to help out. My original plan was to take Kara as well. All children under the age of 2 have free admission. But after seeing how she reacted while on the Hershey Chocolate Tour, I didn't think all the lights, music and especially all the strange people would be a good idea. So she stayed home and I think Ryan really loved having me and Sahira all to himself.

I love this little boy! (this photo is for you Whitney!)

During the first half of the show, I noticed that the show did not sell out after all. There were a ton of empty seats...especially in the center. So at intermission, we packed up everything and moved over!!! It was GREAT and I swear all the families sitting around us moved over once they saw where we were sitting! I felt bad because I knew that the economy probably affected the ticket sales and I hope Playhouse Disney returns for future shows! I know which section to sit in now. ;)

Much Better! M I C...K E Y M O U S E

I wish the lighting was better. I couldn't seem to get a good clear picture even with sitting in the middle! Ha!

What I loved most about this show was it's message!

Music brings the world together.

Isn't that beautiful and oh so true?! We may come from different cultures and speak different languages, but we all know the universal language of music.

The photos did not turn out so great but the video I was able to take did come out clear. This montage includes short clips taken at the end of the show. You will see Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (and the hot dog dance! wish I could have gotten a clear picture of Ryan dancing to this!! too cute!), Little Einsteins, Winnie the Pooh, and Handy Manny! Enjoy...

Oh my gosh that is so cool!! We don't have a huge theater like that up here. We have one the size of the Raja is that still there?? Riley loves going to see plays and ballets there. There's something about seeing things up on a stage that just more magical then the movies.

Looks so fun! I was tempted to take Megan to see Dora Live but the tickets sold out before I made up my mind. Oh, the joys of children.
