Ryan's Easter Eggs
Am I the only one who felt a bit strange celebrating our Spring Holiday~Easter so early this year? I still can't get over that St. Patty's Day and Easter fell in the same week! Chris and I also celebrated 8 wonderful years together on Easter Day this year! March 23rd was the anniversary of our first date...I can't believe how much our lives have changed over the past 8 years! It has been a crazy fun journey so far and I can't wait to see what the future holds!
In case you didn't know this one thing about me, I LOVE TRADITIONS. Every year, we attend church on Palm Sunday. This year, our darling son came down with Roseola on Palm Sunday weekend, so we actually attended the Easter service before heading up to see Chris' family in Hazleton. Ryan is usually very good in church (even my mother in law is shocked when we tell her how well behaved and quiet he can be during church services...he LOVES the music!) but Easter Sunday proved to be a challenge this year! He didn't exactly use in his 3-inch indoor voice! He was not in the mood to sit still or listen to anything mommy and daddy had to say. Needless to say, we spent a good amount of time taking turns taking him to visit the bathroom (our church needs a "quiet room!). The only funny thing that happened this year was Ryan clapping and saying "YEAA!" after each song. I believe Pastor Gould even chuckled a few times. One of the members joked after the service with telling Ryan that he didn't have to praise our organist that much...I believe he said, "he isn't that great!" Sure he misses a few notes here and there but I love Mr. Massey!
As with most holidays, we do a lot of traveling due to Chris' family living over an hour away. It is always worth it because we don't get to see them very often. This year I decided to start another tradition of dyeing Easter Eggs at Nanie's (Chris' grandmother) house. It was a lot of fun to see Ryan dye his 1st eggs! Grandmom High also had a mini egg hunt set up for Ryan and we were surprised how well he was able to find the eggs. Even his teacher at school said he was the best in his class at finding even the hardest eggs at their egg hunt!

Saturday, March 29th ~Community Egg Hunt
Our community decided to throw their annual egg hunt the Saturday after Easter this year. I was able to get off work this year and we had a great family day together on Saturday! It was a bit chilly for an egg hunt but Ryan didn't seem to mind too much. Below are a few pics from this year's egg hunt and I also found a pic of his 1st community egg hunt in 2006! We missed last year due to work and I have vowed not to miss another egg hunt again! See how important traditions are to me?! ENJOY! :)
and he's OFF!
How many eggs can I fit in this basket?

Great pictures and it looked like you had a ton of fun dying eggs...that's one thing I haven't been brave enough to try with T yet! It was crazy to see Ryan's Easter pic from 2006 too - hard to believe they've grown that much so fast!
